05/05/2025 David Ward informed Cllr Baxter that he had visited the site, and a new correct planning application was needed. 13/08/2025 Cllr Baxter emailed David Ward and planning to tell them we had not received a new planning application and 11 websites are advertising rental of the property including these new bedrooms from the first week of October. No response. Cllr Baxter will chase up again and ask Cllr Beverley George to intervene. |

7 Parish Councillors Reports
- Highways – Cllr Patterson commented that there are potholes, but they are not glaring ones. There is a blocked drain on School Hill. Cllr Patterson will draft an email regarding the entrance to The Deer Park. With regard to the metal post at the junction of Thorney Lane/Abbots Bromley Road, Cllr Baxter reported that County Cllr Brown said it is still to be removed. This was first reported by Ian Ramsdale and logged by ESBC as a potential hazard and an eye sore. ESBC said at the time ‘Following discussions with the County Councillor and the Parish Council, it has been agreed that the posts will be removed’.
- Environment – Cllr Prince reported that had tree had come down, and that there had been complaints about the spreading of a smelly substance on Alex Mercer’s land.
- Footpaths – Cllr Marsden reported that there are no problems with the footpaths; some footpaths will be temporarily closed as the Duchy are doing some work in the woods.
8 County Councillor Brown’s Report
Cllr Brown’s email had been circulated.
9 Borough Councillors Report
Cllr George had emailed to say that the sign at Hoar Cross Hall is in place, and that she has ordered a
new ‘Maker Lane’ road sign for opposite Hoar Cross Hall.
10 PCSO Leathers/PCSO Siwek’s Report
PCSO Leathers report had been circulated.
11 Parish Clerk’s Report
The Clerk is meeting Kim Squires on 15th October; Cllr Smith will also attend the meeting. The Clerk
proposed the Meeting dates for 2026: Tuesday 17th March, Annual Meeting of the Parish Council and
Annual Parish Meeting Monday 18th May, Monday 15th June, Monday 21st September, Monday
7th December. The Clerk had been asked about her photocopying costs for 2024; following a discussion,
it was agreed not to purchase a printer.
12 Finances
The bank reconciliation and expenses spreadsheet had been circulated.
The Clerk reported her salary increase for 2025-2026; she will claim the back pay in March 2026.
The Clerk was asked to ask the PCC for the invoices for the grass cutting for Hoar Cross churchyard only
for 2025.
It was agreed to meet at 7.00pm on Monday 8th December to discuss the Precept.

13 Defibrillator
Cllr Smith will contact The Meynell regarding the positioning of the defibrillator. The Clerk will again
contact the businesses she had previously contacted regarding a donation, and Cllr Baxter will put a notice
on Facebook.
14 Land opposite The Meynell
There has been some parking of cars on the land and also some travellers. It was agreed to put the bench
in place before the winter, and Cllr Prince will contact Sam Gregson. It was agreed to move the stones to
the right hand side of the bus shelter.
15 Correspondence
The Clerk had received a letter from NatWest offering a higher interest account, and she will look into this.
