Cllr Prince declared an interest in Planning Application P/2017/00342 – Conversion of existing agricultural building to form farm shop and café, and installation of solar panels on roof at The Deer Park.
4 Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Monday 8th January 2018:
The Minutes were signed as a true record of the Meeting.
5 Matters arising not covered by the Agenda:
Cllr Sherwood raised the issue of the road sign on Blunts Hollow; the Parish Clerk is to contact Brian Biddulph regarding the sign.
The Parish Clerk reported that Brgh Cllr Johnson is pursuing another avenue regarding the costs of setting up the bench.
6 Planning – Cllr Major: Applications received: P/2017/00036 various works at Lawley Cottage, Newborough End – this property is not in Hoar Cross parish; no objections.
P/2018/00099 erection of a part first floor and part two storey rear extension at Cross Roads Farm, Newborough Road; no objections
Applications approved: P/2017/01425 erection of a single storey extension and porch
at Roosters, Abbots Bromley Road
P/2017/01506 extension and conversion of garage at Stables Cottage, St Michaels Drive
P/2017/01354 demolition of buildings, erection of garage and store room, change of agricultural land to domestic garden area at Brackenhurst Manor

7 Parish Councillors reports:
Highways Cllr Bott reported that the speed calming gate on Blunts Hollow had been repaired; on looking at the insurance policy, it was decided not to make a claim (the excess was £100.00). Cllr Sherwood will ask Simon Gregson to quote the replacement costs for all of the speed calming gates, and these will be
added to the insurance policy.
Cllr Bott reported that the Highways Dept had not come back to him regarding the
proposals for Thorney Lanes; he will follow it up.
Cllr Fleet suggested requesting ‘Slow’ signs be put up outside the nursery; Cllr Bott will take this up with the Highways Dept.
Environment Cllr Prince will contact Brgh Cllr Johnson about a bin by the new bench, and willchase up the bin for the layby on the Newborough Road.
Footpaths Cllr Sherwood reported the stiles by Woodman’s Cottage and the fencing on Jacksons Bank had been repaired.

9 Borough Councillor’s report:
See earlier comment re the bench.
10 Parish Clerk’s report:
The Parish Clerk reported that the Audit Training course she had been to at Stafford had been useful and interesting.
11 Finances:
The Bank Reconciliation was approved. It was agreed to give Hoar Cross Parochial Church Council £500.00; various cheques were signed. The Parish Clerk is still waiting for the VAT refund.
12 Parish website:
Cllr Bott reported that Brgh Cllr Johnson had said that no-one at ESBC could help with building a new website. Cllrs Prince and Fleet agreed to make enquiries.
Cllr Bott explained that the website needs to be compliant for the audit at the end of June.
13 Expenses/Budget 2018-2019:
All of the Cllrs had been sent a copy of the expenses to date. Cllr Bott reminded the Cllrs that the Budget had been set at the last Meeting. As a result of the
discussions regarding the Budget, the Parish Clerk had requested an increase in the Precept; ESBC had questioned this, and it was agreed that the Precept should be increased. The Parish Clerk will contact ESBC.
14 Data Protection/General Data Protection Regulation:
Nothing to report.
15 Correspondence:
Information regarding the BKV competition; Mrs Bott had already received this.
16 Members point of information:
None.
17 Date of next meetings: Monday 16th April, Monday 18th June and Monday 30th July in the Old Chapel at Hoar Cross Hall at 7.30pm. The Annual Parish Meeting will take place on Tuesday 22nd May in the Church at 7.30pm; the Parish Meeting will take place at 7.00pm that evening
