Cllr Mrs Prince declared an interest in Planning Application P/2017/00342.
4 Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Tuesday 22nd May 2018
These were signed as an accurate record of the Meeting.
5 Matters arising not covered on the Agenda
Cllr Bott explained that Lynne Bott can now publish documents on the website; Cllr Mrs Prince thanked her very much. The Parish Clerk thanked Lynne too, and suggested that she be given an honorarium as she will be managing the website in the future. Cllr Bott stood down, Lynne left the room and Cllr Mrs Prince chaired the discussion. It was agreed to give Lynne £100.00 for the work she had done, and give her £10.00 an hour for any future work; Lynne is to invoice the Parish Council. Cllr Prince told Lynne, who then thanked the Cllrs for their generosity.
6 Planning – Cllr Major
- a) Applications received P/2018/00485 Demolition of exiting garden wall/erection of new garden wall at 1 Park Cottages; no objections.
P/2018/00676 Diversion of Public Footpath No 9 at Brackenhurst Manor; it was agreed that the Council would neither support or oppose the proposal.
- b) Applications approved P/2018/00036 Lawley Cottage, Newborough End
- c) Applications refused P/2018/00208 installation of dormer window, rooflights and sunpipes, and closing up of a doorway and removal of rooflights at Lavender Cottage. Cllr Major had visited the house and explained that such alterations would alter the look of the house; no action to be taken.
- d) Applications update
- e) Other planning matters P/2017/00342 Conversion of an agricultural building to form a farm shop and café at The Deer Park. Cllr Johnson is waiting to hear from the Planning Manager; he will talk to the Deputy Leader for Planning and will email Cllr Prince when he has an update.
7 Parish Councillors Reports
Highways Cllr Bott e has contacted the Highways Dept about traffic calming on Thorney Lanes and the ‘Slow’ sign on School Hill, but has not had a response.
Environment Cllr Mrs Prince Nothing to report.
Footpaths Cllr Mrs Sherwood No report.
8 County Councillor’s Report
No report.
9 Borough Councillor’s Report
Cllr Johnson has taken photographs of the bench on Maker Lane in order to apply to have a bin placed there; he will follow up the placement of the bin in the layby on the Newborough Road; the Clerk will ask T and E Garden Services to tidy up the area; £250.00 is available from the Councillors Community Fund, to be spent by 31st March 2019.
10 Parish Clerk’s Report
The Clerk went through the Annual Governance and Accountability Return for 2017-2018, which was then signed and dated.

12 GDPR
Cllr Johnson said this had not been mentioned at Staffordshire, so he had nothing to report.
Cllr Bott said that as he understood it, email communication is not a problem; a data audit needs to be carried out ie what is kept, why it is kept and the length of time it is kept for – he has the form; there is ‘implied consent’ that you can carry on communicating.
13 Correspondence
Information regarding the costings for replacing the speed gates; the Clerk will ask Zurich to add them to the insurance schedule. An email from Royal Mail regarding the moving of the post box; a survey of the proposed site is being carried out. Mobility link information; Cllr Bott has emailed this to Diana Humpidge for inclusion in the Newsletter. Information regarding works to be carried out in Brackenhurst Woods; the Clerk will ask Diana to put this in the Newsletter.
The Clerk had written to Mr Turley to thank him for repairing the bench on Maker Lane.
