4 Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Tuesday 22nd June 2021
The Minutes were agreed, and Vice Chairman Cllr Mrs Smith signed them.
5 Matters arising not covered on the Agenda Cllr Mrs Smith had received an email regarding the broken bench in the Memorial Garden; she will contact Rose and Chris Tomlinson whose bench it is.
Cllr Major reported that the bench in the churchyard in the area where the ashes are buried is damaged; it was agreed to look at the plaque to see who is responsible for the bench and to contact them.
6 HS2 The Parish Clerk had forwarded various emails to the Parish Councillors.

8 Parish Councillors Reports
Highways The Parish Clerk has received an email from Sam Griffiths, Community Highway Engagement Officer, suggesting a crossroads sign and a Slow sign be erected on Maker Lane to slow the traffic down; it was suggested requesting traffic calming measures, and to approach the Hall regarding the cost. Cllr Bott will follow these up.
Cllr Bott reported there are white lines around some potholes.
Cllr Bott has reported the damaged sign on the Abbots Bromley Road, and will
follow up with County Cllr Jessel.
Cllr Mrs Sherwood has received a quote from Sam Gregson for £250 plus VAT for the replacement of the speed gate on the Abbots Bromley road; it was agreed that she ask him to do the work.

9 County Councillor Jessel’s Report No report had been received
10 Borough Councillor Beech’s Report No report had been received
11 PCSO Leathers Report This had been circulated to the Parish Councillors prior to the Meeting; PCSO Hadfield clarified some of the points in the report. The Clerk is to forward the report to Lynne Bott for inclusion in the Newsletter.
12 Parish Clerk’s Report
The Clerk thanked the Parish Councillors for completing their Register of Interest forms; she suggested a meeting with Cllrs Bott and Major to discuss the expenses/budget for 2022-2023, and will forward some dates to them; she raised the matter of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in June 2022 – it was agreed to ask the parishioners for ideas through the Newsletter; she has a half yearly meeting with Alan Toplis and Kim Squires on Monday 4th October; she reminded the Parish Councillors of a Meeting regarding the new Code of Conduct at Tutbury on Monday 8th November; there have been comments on a local Facebook page regarding having a defibrillator in Hoar Cross – Cllr Sherwood said she would find out about free defibrillators.

The Clerk has circulated the Bank Reconciliation for the end of July.

18 Correspondence A letter from ElanCity regarding traffic control signs; as there are no speed limits in Hoar Cross, such signs cannot be used.
19 Members Points of Information Cllr Mrs Prince reported that there is a bin in the layby on the Newborough Road and on the gatepost on School Hill
