The Minutes were agreed, and Cllr Bott signed them.

Cllr Mrs Sherwood reported that the speed gate on the Abbots Bromley Road had been repaired; the metal ‘Hoar Cross’ sign has been returned.
6 HS2
The Parish Clerk had forwarded a number of emails to the Parish Councillors.
7 Planning Cllr Major
- a) Applications received P/2021/01269 felling of an oak tree at Blacksmiths
Cottage, Newborough Road; there were no objections
P/2021/01427 erection of a stable at Chantry Farm, Thorney Lanes; there were no objections
P/2021/01448 retention of use of land from agricultural grazing to grass exercise area at Birchwood House, Abbots Bromley Road; there were no objections
- b) Applications approved P/2020/01491 conversion and alteration of existing building to accommodate three biomass boilers at Hoar Cross Hall, Maker Lane. Cllr Major showed the amended plan which includes a noise deadening fence, space between the new building and the houses, and unloading will be done on the other side of the building. The owners of the Hall are aware of the regulations regarding the noise levels, and will soundproof the boiler room.

Highways Cllr Bott – it was agreed to have a crossroads sign and a ‘Slow’ sign erected on Maker Lane to slow the traffic down; Cllr Bott has not approached the Hall regarding a contribution towards the cost of traffic calming measures.
Cllr Bott is making some progress with the repair of potholes, and he will chase this.
Environment Cllr Mrs Prince – nothing to report
Footpaths Cllr Mrs Sherwood – the pond at Jacksons Bank is flooding; Cllr Mrs Sherwood will contact the Duchy office.

10 Borough Councillor Beech’s Report A new Monitoring Officer is being appointed

This had been circulated to the Councillors and Lynne ahead of this Meeting
12 Parish Clerk’s Report
The Clerk had met Kim Squires, from Alan Toplis Associates; all had gone well, though there had been questions regarding the website – Lynne had included the relevant information on the new website, but there had been problems with the link. The Clerk and Lynne have worked together to sort out the issue. The Clerk thanked Lynne again for setting up the new website.
13 2021-2022 Expenses/2022-2023 Budget and Precept It was agreed to leave the Precept at £6150.00
14 Finance
The Clerk has circulated the Bank Reconciliation for the end of October; 3p had been added to the deposit account at the end of November.
It was agreed to donate £100 to the British Legion.

16 Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend – Thursday 2nd-Sunday 5th June
Cllr Smith imagined the Big Jubilee Lunch to be similar to the Harvest Festival lunch; it was suggested using the green and parking in Cllr Mrs Prince’s field. There was a discussion regarding the hire of a marquee. Lynne will ask for suggestions on the website/in the Newsletter.
17 Website accessibility/generic email addresses
The new website is up and running; the Councillors will set up and use generic email addresses from 1st January 2022.
18 Bus shelter – Cllr Mrs Sherwood
The bus shelter has been repaired, and Cllr Sherwood has painted the repairs.
19 Tatenhill Airfield – Cllr Major
Cllrs Mrs Prince and Sherwood and Cllr Major visited Mike Sheldon at Tatenhill Airfield. The flying school is open between 9.00am and 5.00pm. However, the owners of private planes can use the Airfield at any time. If there is an issue with noise, it was suggested that the complainant record the number of the plane, the date and time, and report it to the Airfield. There is also a small airfield at Abbots Bromley, so planes may be from there. The Clerk is to write a letter on Cllr Major’s behalf to be included in the Newsletter.

23rd November – Questionnaire for farmers regarding HS2 – to be put on the website
30th November – grants available from Staffordshire CC re Climate Change eg enhance green spaces – the Clerk to forward to Simon Austen
21 Members Points of Information Cllr Smith raised the issue of warning signs for motorists to be aware of horse riders; it was agreed to ask for examples of incidents of when horse riders had noted issues with motorists, and Cllr Smith will contact Eland Lodge and the stables on Dolesfoot Lane.
